Wim Crouwel at the Design Museum
Recently visited the new Wim Crouwel exhibition at London’s Design Museum. His work is amazing, starting out in the 1940’s his work spans right up to the present day. His style is mainly typographic and quite colourful, he produces mainly poster design and publishing, creating magazines and books. Whilst walking around the exhibition I got the impression that he was way before his time, with his choice of typefaces and prominent futuristic style. Throughout the exhibition you got the opportunity to see how his style evolved with particular change in the 70-80’s with the introduction of dominant photographs and relevant imagery from that period. His most recent work was for MTV in which he assisted the creation of the video transitions.
His work doesn’t fail to inspire and I would recommend the exhibition to anyone. A chance to see a typographic genius.
