A good TLK this time round with some valuable points discussed. Tips on CV’s and interview hints. Some good points of reference.

Getting ahead of the pack Standing out? - talk to potential clients/employers on twitter

- get out there and meet people

- be ahead of the que - go to graduate shows

- quite often your work will match the agency and this will help guide you. Can you see yourself producing there end product?

- You’ll probably have more success having a strategic approach other than applying for anything.

- find out the right person to contact (a name)

- Lead an email with artwork or at least feature a reference. What You Can Offer? How do you show the skills you have?

- all about chemistry, personalities make the difference.

- tell us what you can do don’t lie

- don’t right off relevant retail exp

- NO PHOTOS (only be benefitial for branding)

- Possibly give an overvue of your plan in years to come

- A use of a brand could work, colours? Often used imagery?

- Have your style dont be hung up on fitting yourself with particular companies.

- Dont want to have GCSE specifics in there really unless really relevent?

- Hobbies are of interest in some cases (Again relevence)

- PDF can be sent round (eco)

- You and Your body of work will talk more than a grade or certificate. Providing proof that you’ve been through the process is valued more. The Interview What to expect?

- odd questions will pop up

- ask questions about the company/client

- practical/trials will crop up

- looking for reasons to hire you not to discard you

- on going you are being analysed even on the phone etc.

- look at online references for salaries online, talk about money with confidence. (Something in the region of)

- dress for the job you want, like you’d be working there. Comfortable/Relaxed.

- whats your genuine answer to a question in an interview, be comfortable with curve ball questions.
